Benton County Landmark Fire Investigated As Arson

rock-house

Camden, Tenn.–A Benton County landmark was destroyed overnight by fire and it’s being investigated as arson.

The structure was known as the “Old Rock Store” and stood for decades on Hwy. 69A between Camden and Big Sandy at the Rushing Creek Church Road intersection.

The country grocery had operated for decades and was made of stones. The fire gutted the structure, with most of the stone walls still standing.

Several Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) investigators were on the scene Monday morning. They ask anyone with information that might be helpful to call the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017.
