Huntingdon, Tenn.—One of the victims in a violent Carroll County home invasion earlier this year has died and the results of an autopsy will determine whether the suspect will also face murder charges.
Dakota Baggett, age 25, of Waverly, and James Hill, age 36, of New Johnsonville, are being held on charges of attempted first-degree murder, especially aggravated kidnapping, especially aggravated robbery, theft and aggravated burglary.
They are charged with the home invasion in a Buena Vista home where they assaulted a 96 year old woman and holding two other victims are knife-point inside the home.
Hill was arrested at the Terrace Woods Lodge in Paris on June 26 by Paris Police. He was arrested after a days-long manhunt over several jurisdictions and was staying at the motel under an alias. Police also arrested three Camden women staying at the motel. Samantha Hollowell, Britany Corbitt and Jennifer Hisey were charged with accessory after the fact for allegedly helping Hill elude capture.
Investigators earlier said the two committed a similar crime involving another elderly victim in Humphreys Co. after the Carroll County attack.
In the Carroll County attack, the 96-year-old woman died last week and an autopsy will determine the cause of her death. If related to the attack, more charges will be pending against the pair.
Their next court date is November 20.
