Henry Co. Schools Set To Return To More In-Person Instruction

hc-yellow-phase

Paris, Tenn.–Due to improvement in Henry County’s active COVID-19 cases, Henry County Schools will return to the ‘yellow phase’, permitting more in-person instruction beginning Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
Masking will still be required, with an emphasis on social distancing. School officials will continue monitoring the COVID situation.
As of February 5, 2020, Henry County was reporting 82 active cases, with 13 new cases, 68 deaths, and 63 hospitalized.
The number of active cases has shown a significant decrease just over the past two weeks. Active cases had reached some 200 over an extended period of time.
The following is the post from Henry County Schools on its Facebook page:
“Due to a tremendous improvement in the daily rate of Covid-19 cases, we are shifting in our Covid-19 Tiers back to Yellow phase beginning on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
1. Students in grades Pre-K through 8 will be on campus daily for in-person instruction. We will discontinue the A/B schedule for grades 5-8.
2. Students in grades 9-12 will continue on A/B schedule.
3. Masking will still be required during school activities. Mask breaks will be needed but we will continue our current masking plan.
4. We will continue to emphasize social distancing, acknowledging that six feet will not be attainable in all situations.
We are cautiously entering the yellow phase. Our diligence in masking, washing, socially distancing, etc. is what has assisted with this shift.
Thank you for your flexibility in all things this year.”
