Paris, Tenn.–The Paris Landing Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to two fires Saturday, one of which destroyed a barn and the other of which destroyed a shed.
Paris Landing Fire Chief Reggie Coles said at 3:30 am Saturday morning, the Paris Landing Fire Dept and Henry County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 5045 Shady Grove Road for a report of a shed on fire.
On arrival a shed behind the residence was found fully engulfed in flames, he said. The owner, Joshua Jennings said he woke up and saw the shed on fire. The exact cause is undetermined but appears to be accidental.
Damage is estimated at $5000. Paris Landing had 3 trucks and 7 firefighters on the scene for one hour. Puryear Fire Dept also responded for automatic mutual aid with 1 truck and 5 firefighters.
At approximately 8:30 pm Saturday night Paris Landing Fire Department and sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to 245 Carl Chandler Road in Buchanan for a report of a barn on fire.
Arriving units found the barn fully engulfed in flames.
Owner Wayne Brady said he saw the end of his barn on fire from the window of his house. The barn was a total loss. Coles said
A heat lamp inside the barn is the suspected cause. Damage is estimated at $35,000. Paris Landing had 2 trucks and 7 firefighters on the scene for 1 hour. Puryear Fire Dept also responded for automatic mutual aid with 1 truck and 5 firefighters.
