
Obion County, Tenn.–The TWRA is investigating the boating accident which seriously injured the long-time regional naturalist at Reelfoot Lake State Park.
David Haggard was airlifted to Regional One Health (The Med) in Memphis after suffering a broken jaw and ribs and multiple facial injuries.
According to the TWRA, the accident occured around 3:30 p.m. Monday at Reelfoot Lake when one boat occupied by one deer hunter collided with another boat occupied by three deer hunters at the intersection of Donaldson Ditch and Big Ronaldson ditch in Samburg.
The TWRA is only reporting one injury from the collision.
Haggard is a familiar face in our area, having made presentations with Reelfoot Lake’s birds of prey at numerous events. He also posts his beautiful photography of Reelfoot Lake on his Facebook page.
