Attorney Tests Positive For COVID-19, Henry Co. Court Sessions Cancelled

cth-current

Paris, Tenn.–An attorney who attended Monday’s Henry County Grand Jury session tested positive for COVID19 and in an abundance of caution, Judge Donald Parish and Judge Vicki Snyder have cancelled all General Sessions, Circuit, and Juvenile Court for this week to limit any further exposure.
Judge Parish is also canceling Circuit Criminal arraignment day on Monday, November 9, 2020.
Circuit Court Clerk Mike Wilson said, “Anyone having court this week or Monday for these specific courts will need to contact the court clerk’s office or their attorney to get their rescheduled court date.  I would suggest they call Wednesday or Thursday to ask as it will take some time to work through those cases and allow the judges time to consider the new dates.”
Wilson said, “Certain essential personnel must be quarantined due to COVID19 guidelines which will make it impossible to conduct some court sessions and is why we are taking these precautions.”
General Sessions Civil Court is still as scheduled for Monday, November 9, 2020.
In his press release, Wilson said, “The court offices could be working with a limited staff this week so please be patient with your calls.  You may have to call more than once but we will work through this as best as we can.  Mostly, we are trying to be very cautious and limit contact for this week.
“The courthouse maintenance staff has taken and will continue to take measures to disinfect the areas of concern which are limited areas and not the entire courthouse or annex buildings.”
