Green Bows All Over Paris For Melton/Gulish Families

By Shannon McFarlin WENK/WTPR News Director
Paris, Tenn.—Thanks to the hard-working ladies at Jack Jones Flowers and Gifts, Kelly green bows are appearing all over Paris to honor the Melton and Gulish families, who have been so directly affected by the tragedy in Las Vegas.

Owner Kathy Robbins and Brittney Davis have been busy since Monday afternoon, making hundreds and hundreds of the bows that they are giving away free for people to place on their businesses and homes. A note on each bow reads, “Remembering the Melton and Gulish families. #Pray for peace.”
Robbins said, “I wanted them to see all the bows when they get back to Paris and know how much everyone loves them and is thinking about them.”
Sonny Melton was killed Sunday night as he and his wife Dr. Heather (Gulish) Melton were enjoying the country music festival along with thousands of others. The latest report indicates 59 people were killed and over 500 injured during the mass shooting. Sonny was an RN and Heather is a doctor at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
Why green bows? Robbins said, “It just spoke to my heart. I had a picture of green and I thought, they’re farmers, so green is good. And then we realized that Heather’s clinic is on Kelly Drive and it’s called Kelly Clinic now. So it all came together. It was a real God thing.”
The response to the bows has been overwhelming, Robbins said. Since she posted on Facebook yesterday that they were making the bows, people have been calling and stopping in for them and you can see the green bows all over Paris. “The hospital just called and they want 100 of them,” she said.
The bows are free at Jack Jones Flowers and Gifts 118 N. Market St. They may be contacted at 642 5252.
