Benton Co. Sheriff’s Office Receives Hero K9 Equipment Grant

Camden, Tenn.–Hero K9 has announced an equipment grant awarded to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office for the department’s K9 Officer “Medal” has been received. The NRA Foundation awarded to Hero K9 a grant totaling $3,600 to fund an in-squad kennel, a ballistic vest, and a Ranger K9 Trauma Kit, which are provided to the agency at no cost.

“The NRA has been a great supporter of our equipment grant program in Tennessee. We are grateful for the NRA Foundation’s grant, which made this safety equipment possible,” said Hero K9’s President, Kriscel Estrella. This is the third grant from the NRA providing equipment to an agency in Tennessee.

K9 Medal is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois certified in Narcotics. He is assigned to Officer Jeff Arnold of the Benton County Sheriff’s Office. Officer Arnold said Medal has mastered all of his commands and has become such a fun asset to the department. He has learned how to chew through not one, but two, metal fences. K9 Medal loves naps and cuddling.

The in-squad kennel valued at $2,500 by American Aluminum in Perry, FL; the made-to-order ballistic vest valued at $950, by Safariland in Jacksonville, FL; and the Ranger K9 Trauma Kit valued at $150, by Hero K9 ship directly to the department through Hero K9’s distributor, Streicher’s, in Minneapolis, MN, proudly serving public safety professionals since 1953. Each Ranger K9 Trauma Kit includes veterinary-grade supplies sourced through Veterinary Hospitals Association in South Saint Paul, MN. A complimentary BarkBox was also be sent to the department for each K9 receiving equipment related to this grant award, thanks to Bark & Co., in New York, NY.
