Union City, Tenn.–Careers on Wheels rolled into Hillcrest and our Pre-K through 3rd grade students had an amazing day learning about careers that keep our communities moving, powered, and safe!
Students explored the world of road construction with Ford Construction and TDOT, learned about law enforcement careers from the Obion County Sheriff’s Department and Troy Police, and even discovered the “wild side” of protecting and serving with TWRA and their animal-focused conservation work!
Students also learned more about skilled trade and service industry careers with Gibson Electric/Connect, Amteck Electrical, and First Choice Farm & Lawn, getting a closer look at careers involving electricity, equipment, technology, and hands-on problem solving that help keep our communities running every day.
Our students got an up-close look at first responder careers with EMS, Rives Fire Department, Air Evac, and even our very own nurse Mallorie, who walked students through everyday first aid procedures and taught them more about staying safe and helping others in emergencies
