Train Collision Claims Life Of South Fulton Man

Obion County, Tenn.–A 40-year-old South Fulton man was killed early this morning in a collision with a train in Obion County.

According to the Obion County Fire Departments public information, around 3 a.m., an Amtrak passenger train traveling along its designated track struck a sedan at a railroad crossing.

As of 6:30 a.m., the scene had been cleared and the vehicle had been towed. Canadian National Railway personnel inspected the train and tracks and reported no significant damage.

Fire and EMS crews transported the victim to the hospital while continuing life-saving efforts, but were unable to restore a pulse.
Representatives and rail inspectors from Canadian National Railway responded to the scene to assess track conditions and assist with the investigation.
