Union City’s Sh’Nyla Moss has again been selected for a spot on the Tennessee Sports Writers Association All-State basketball squad.

The Union City junior guard, who was chosen for the Class 1A team as a sophomore, was listed on the Class 2A squad on Wednesday, following a season in 2025-26 that saw her again produce noteworthy stats.

At 5-6, and despite having drawn the defensive attention of every Lady Tornado opponent, she averaged 20.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. Moss shot 49.8 percent from 2-point range, hit 87.7 percent of her free throws, and totaled 549 points while playing in 27 of her team’s 30 games.

She tallied a season-high 37 points against Gibson County – one of her three 30-point games. She scored 20 or more 15 times and finished in double figures in 25 of her 27 games.

Moss was one of 10 underclassmen selected for the TSWA honor, which listed 15 players in each classification. Five of those selections are from rural West Tennessee.

Moss also earned all-district, all-region, and All-West Tennessee honors.

Union City went 16-14 against a rugged schedule this past season, advancing to the regional semifinals for the third consecutive season. The Twister girls’ slate included eight state tournament teams, including 2A champion Huntingdon, and second-place private-school finishers University School of Jackson and Lipscomb Academy.

Of their 19 different opponents – 12 of which finished with winning records, with 10 of those winning 20 or more games.
