Extra Deputies To Be Present At Ridgemont School Monday

Union City, Tenn.–On April 26, the Obion County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a potential threat of violence involving Ridgemont Elementary School.
The Sheriff’s Office immediately initiated an investigation and quickly identified the origin of the message. The student believed to be responsible was interviewed in the presence of a parent or guardian. Based on the investigation, authorities have determined there is no credible threat to students, staff, or school facilities.
The safety of Obion County students remains our highest priority. The Obion County Sheriff’s Office takes all threats involving schools seriously and will thoroughly investigate every report to ensure the continued safety of our schools and community.
As a precaution and to provide reassurance, additional deputies will be present at all county schools in the morning.
