Graves County, Ky.–An investigation by Graves County Sheriff’s detectives determined that a Graves County church had been defrauded in over $10,000 dollars, relating to insurance coverage paid for, but the insurance agent never purchased the policies, for property and liability coverage.
The suspect was identified as 59-year-old Glen David Ramey of Murray , Ky, who is also the owner of David Ramey Insurance Company, also located in Murray. He was arrested at his business this morning.
Detectives learned that Ramey had fraudulently misused funds paid to him and his business directly, for the purpose of purchasing insurance policies. In some cases, policies were never obtained for the victim, leaving the victim in this case with no coverage whatsoever. The offenses are alleged to have occurred from 2022 through and up to present time.
Also, as part of the investigation, an investigator with the Kentucky Department of Insurance was contacted, who assisted sheriff’s detectives with the arrest of Ramey, this morning (April 01, 2026) at around 10:40 AM at his business in Murray.
Ramey was transported back to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office, processed and then taken to the Graves County Restricted Custody Center, and later to an out of county detention center.
The investigation is ongoing by both the Graves County Sheriff’s detectives, and the Kentucky Department of Insurance.
