McKenzie, Tenn.–“McKenzie’s Eggstravaganza” is coming to McKenzie City Park this Saturday, March 28. The annual Easter Egg Drop has been renamed. There will be over 50,000 Easter eggs to hunt, prizes, food trucks, balloon twisting, bouncy house–and the Easter Bunny himself. The event is sponsored by the McKenzie Chamber of Commerce and Industrial Development Board.
There will not be a helicopter drop at the event this year. As always, it’s a free event. Vendors will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. McKenzie City Park is at 570 Como Street, McKenzie, TN.
Age-specific egg hunts begin at 9:30 a.m. for children aged 0 to 2, 9:50 a.m. for children aged 3 to 4, 10:10 a.m. for children aged 5 to 7 and 10:30 a.m. for children aged 8 to 10.
Each age group has a designated field, located to the left of the pond’s park.
There are 12,500 candy-filled eggs available in each field, along with hundreds of toy items. Egg hunters are reminded that the eggs are theirs to keep. In an effort to keep the fields clean for each age group, egg hunters are asked not to discard empty eggs or candy wrappers on the field.
Hidden in each age group’s field is a single Golden Egg labeled “2026.” The Silly Goose Children’s Store is this year’s Golden Egg prize sponsor. Each golden egg finder should turn in his or her Golden Egg at the prize table in the barn to receive a prize basket, which will include a $50 gift certificate for The Silly Goose Children’s Store and a few additional goodies.
The following vendors will be open from 9 a.m. to noon: Event Specialist (Balloon decor), Small Town Sno & More LLC, Groovy Glaze Doughnuts, Bow Ties & Tutus Mobile Petting Zoo, BeBe’s Biscuit Co. and Sweet Heifer’s.
