TALLADEGA, Ala. – The Bethel University Action Shooting Team entered the 2026 Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) College National Championship with a goal no team had ever accomplished.

After leaving last year’s championship at the CMP Talladega Marksmanship Park with a record seven national titles out of ten disciplines, Bethel returned in 2026 with a singular focus—to win them all.

With the addition of the new Ultimate division, bringing the total to eleven disciplines, the challenge grew even greater. For most programs, seven national titles would define a season. For Bethel, it set the standard.

Back in McKenzie, Tennessee, the team committed to that goal, pushing through months of preparation determined to make history and establish itself as the premier action shooting program in the nation.

On March 12, Bethel traveled to Talladega, Alabama, not just to defend titles—but to prove total dominance. In SASP, there are no divisions. Every college competes head-to-head, placing Bethel against top programs including Arizona State, Florida State, Virginia Tech, and Texas A&M, the defending centerfire pistol national champion.

Adding to the stakes, three prestigious traveling trophies—awarded for overall performance—were on the line. Bethel entered the championship holding two of the three trophies, which were returned at the start of the match as required. Their goal was clear—to win them back and claim the third, previously held by Texas A&M, completing the sweep.

After three grueling days of competition, Bethel delivered.

When awards were announced, Bethel University was named national champion in all eleven disciplines, becoming the first team in SASP history to sweep every title. The team also captured all three traveling trophies, cementing its place at the top of collegiate action shooting.

The dominance extended beyond team results. Bethel athletes earned 37 High Overall (HOA)individual awards across multiple disciplines.
