The 2026 spring sports season officially kicks off today for high school and middle school teams and athletes.
As usual, Union City Schools will field teams in a variety of sports on both levels.
A total of seven teams will represent the Golden Tornadoes in the high school category, including baseball, softball, girls’ and boys’ tennis, girls’ and boys’ track, and soccer.
There will be seven more squads carrying the UC banner in middle school, with baseball, girls’ and boys’ tennis, girls’ and boys’ track, soccer, and golf athletes suiting up.
UCHS baseball, softball, and tennis will begin their respective seasons today – weather permitting. High School track will participate in its first meet on Thursday, while Middle School baseball and soccer will also debut this week, as will high school soccer.
The remaining teams will begin their campaigns in the coming weeks.
