South Fulton Man Arrested On Counterfeiting Charges

South Fulton, Tenn.–A South Fulton man was arrested for attempting to pass counterfeit $100 bills. Richard A. King, age 57, was arrested at his home by Graves County Sheriff Detective Sgt. Seaton along with Obion County deputies and South Fulton police.
On February 13, 2026 it was reported by a Water Valley, Ky. area business that a suspect had attempted to pass counterfeit currency. When confronted, the suspect fled from the business.
Graves Sheriff’s deputies continued the investigation and learned that they same suspect had attempted the same at a business in Fulton Ky. Further investigation led to the suspect being identified as being 57 year old Richard A. King of South Fulton, Tennessee.
February 19, 2026 Graves Sheriff’s Det. Sgt. S. Seaton accompanied by the South Fulton Tenn Police and Obion County Tenn Sheriff’s deputies located a possible residence of the suspect. After a short surveillance of the home, officers observed the suspect.
He was taken into custody by the Tennessee authorities on a Graves County Ky arrest warrant charging him with Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument. He is also facing similar charges from other jurisdiction(s).
He was lodged in the Obion County Tenn Jail awaiting extradition back to Graves County.
