Paris, Tenn.–It was a lively day with high bids and phones ringing–and with an old-fashioned Helping Hand bidding war–today at the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction. With 15 slates of donations, $6,195 was raised, bringing the overall total so far at $268,367.

With bids getting higher and higher, a cheesecake made by J. Medlock for Point Pleasant Baptist Church, was bought for $500. And that was just one high bid during the afternoon.

Auctioneer was Andy Collins and manning the phones were members of the Paris Lions Club.

Items were donated by Country Club Estates, Nelson/Shady Grove, Paris Landing community, Paris Landing Senior Center, HCHS Cross Country and Track, American Heritage Girls and Point Pleasant Baptist Church.

Thursday items will be donated by Civil Air Patrol, Elkhorn community, Friends of the Refuge, Sulphur Well Church of Christ, along with rescheduled Henry County CASA, Relay for Life, Air Evac and Rescue Squad.

Friday items will be donated by Easton’s Angels, HCHS Baseball Boosters, REAL Hope Youth Center, and Salvation Army.
