
Paris, Tenn.–With the $12,965 raised Saturday, the year-to-date total is now $108,537 for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction.
There were 23 slates of donated items Saturday from the Whitlock community, Henry County High School and Grove School. Bids were high and despite the nasty weather and roads still slick, a large audience gathered at the Paris Convention Center for the auction Saturday.
Auctioneer was Wendy Barnhart, with the Springhill Baptist & Friends manning the phones. Auctioneer Ray Compton filled in during the afternoon to allow Wendy to take a break.
With the Helping Hand auction off for a week due to the dangerous driving conditions, the donor groups will be rescheduled into the schedule for several days.
On Monday, items will be donated by New Harmony Baptist, Paris-Henry County Heritage Center; Henry County Historical Society; and HCHS Band Boosters/Color Guard.
On Tuesday, items will be donated by Joe Mahan Ford, First Presbyterian Church, New Boston community, the Jolly Women’s Club, and Trinity United Methodist Church.
On Wednesday, items will be donated by the Mansfield comunity, Christ Lutheran Church, Johnson Chapel, Carl Perkins Center, along with reschedued HCHS Madrigals, Project Bridge and 7th Day Adventist Church.
