Paris, Tenn.–The Pleasant Hill community came through for the Henry County Helping Hand Radio Auction in a big way Saturday, with $21,678 raised. That brings the grand total raised since the auction started a week ago at $50,536.
There were 11 slates of good things–mostly homemade baked goods and full meals–and the bids were high: $1,700 from Cotton Sanders for his wife’s cake; $1,000 for a rack of ribs. You get the idea.
Auctioneers were Ray Compton and David Jackson and the Springhill & Friends group manned the phones.
On Monday, items will be donated by W.G. Rhea Library, LI Smith, Paris-Henry County Arts Council, Master Gardeners, Quinn Chapel Church. Tuesday there will be Security Bank and White & Associates Wiberley/Dyer.
The auction is held at the Paris Convention Center from January 12 through March 4 and you can participate and/or watch in several ways: You can listen on one of our radio stations, WHNY 104.7FM or 1000 AM or listen on our website at HenryCountyNow.com or the Henry County Helping Hand website at https://www.hchelpinghand.org/ Auction phone number is 644-1695. The auction begins on the weekdays at 12:30 p.m. and on Saturdays at noon.
