Residential Structure Destroyed By Fire

Obion Fire Department and Rives Fire Department were dispatched as automatic aid to Troy Fire Department for a structure fire in the Polk Station area at approximately 10:42 am today December 21.
Obion Fire Chief Kane Stacks arrived on scene first in Tanker 8171 and established command, reporting a one-story residential dwelling fully involved.
Obion Fire Department 8191 arrived on scene and established a rehabilitation area while providing medical standby by EMS Captain Susie Evans.
Kenton Fire Department was requested for mutual aid to provide additional manpower and tanker support.
Chief Stacks ordered an exterior attack utilizing a 1¾-inch preconnect to the Alpha side of the structure and a 2½-inch ground monitor positioned on the Charlie/Delta side. Troy Fire Department assisted with manpower for the exterior attack operations.
Rives Fire Department arrived on scene and was assigned to establish and maintain a continuous water supply.
Kenton Fire Department arrived on scene and was assigned to pull exterior walls to assist with overhaul operations.
A second 1¾-inch handline was deployed to extinguish a nearby shed exposure that began showing signs of smoke on the rear wall closest to the main fire. The exposure fire was quickly extinguished, and electrical power to the shed was secured.
Command reported the fire under control within 45 minutes of crews arriving on scene.
The cause of the fire remains underdetermined.
