Murray State Police Investigating Assault

Murray, Ky.–Murray State Police are continuing to investigate an assault at the Pi Kappa Alpha house that happened Saturday. They are reporting that four males assaulted one victim and at least two firearms were brandished and one firearm was used to strike the victim.
The following is the statement from Murray State Police:
The Murray State Police Department is committed to the safety of our students, faculty, and staff. Yesterday, the University issued a brief statement acknowledging an off-campus incident that occurred at a private event. At that time, limited information was available.
MSU Police has now received additional pertinent details, including preliminary suspect descriptions, and is issuing this Timely Warning to keep our community informed. The incident occurred off campus and is actively being investigated by the Murray Police Department.
Early November 22nd, 2025, Murray Police responded to a report of an assault at the Pi Kappa Alpha house. According to their initial investigation, four males assaulted a victim. During the assault it was alleged at least two firearms were brandished and one firearm was used to strike the victim. It was reported the suspects fled in a white SUV. Murray State Police assisted Murray Police Department by conducting additional targeted patrol in the area of the incident.
At this time, there continues to be no indication of an ongoing threat to the campus community. This Timely Warning is being provided out of an abundance of caution and because incident and suspect information has now become available. Should additional details be confirmed by the Murray Police Department, the Murray State Police Department will issue further updates.
Safety Information and Protective Steps:
•If possible, do not walk alone during late-night hours. Walk in groups whenever you can.
•Use the Safety Escort Service on campus by calling the Murray State Police or by using the LiveSafe app.
•Stay in well-lit areas and avoid short-cuts or secluded locations.
•Be aware of your surroundings. Avoid being distracted by electronic devices.
•Do not wear headphones that prevent you from hearing someone approach.
•If confronted or threatened, do not resist—your safety is the priority.
•Immediately report any suspicious persons or activity.
