Medical Services Week was full of amazing guest speakers across the Obion County School system as students explored the many exciting careers that make up the healthcare field.
At Hillcrest, students heard from Maddy Knight, RN, who taught them about caring for the whole patient—body, mind, and spirit—and how nurses use therapeutic teaching to help patients care for themselves. They also met Russ Yates, a Physical Therapist, who shared how he helps patients regain strength and mobility through dedication, compassion, and hard work.
At Lake Road, Amber Donnell from Baptist Women’s Clinic, quizzed students on blood cells and shared her fascinating experiences working behind the scenes in the lab. And over at South Fulton, students learned from Jamie Morris, who spoke about her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner and the importance of compassionate care in every patient interaction.
From lab science to nursing, physical therapy, and beyond, students loved discovering the teamwork, skill, and dedication that keep the healthcare world running strong!
