PARIS, TN – The Henry County School System honored the community’s veterans today with heartfelt and moving Veterans Day programs held at each of its schools. Students and staff showed their gratitude for the service of local heroes through patriotic presentations and receptions.
Each program provided a memorable tribute, featuring students playing music, reciting patriotic poems, and performing various presentations to honor the attendees. Following the programs, receptions were held allowing veterans to enjoy the fellowship.
Henry County High School (HCHS) hosted a program sponsored by its Military Club. The ceremony in the Gamlin Gymnasium began with a moment of respect as each veteran was individually introduced and escorted to their seat by members of the Military Club and the Criminal Justice Club.
“Our students were genuinely happy to serve and honor every veteran who attended,” according to Beth Weed, sponsor of the Military Club.
During the day’s events, Lt. Colonel Tony Lacy, U.S. Army (Ret.), and current Henry County Veterans Services Officer, encouraged all veterans to connect with him to learn more about the resources and services available to them.
The day’s events also highlighted the deep-rooted military tradition within the Henry County community.
