
Paris, Tenn.–Air Evac-Henry County has honored the work of local first responders in saving the life of a near-drowning victim last summer.
On July 4, a coordinated emergency response saved the life of Larry Hale, who suffered a near drowning incident. The quick action and collaboration among multiple agencies insured Mr Hale receive critical access to advance medical care, according to Air Evac.
Henry County American Medical Response EMS with Paramedic Rachel Sylvester & AEMT Braden Pounds and later AEMT Bruce Herrin were among the first to respond. Their fast arrival on scene and immediate medical intervention stabilized Mr Hale enough to prepare him for transport.
The Paris Landing Fire Department with Woody Case representing the team, provided essential assistance in rescue operations and team management. Their role was crucial, and ensured Mr Hale was safely extracted and prepared for advanced care. Recognizing this severity of the incident, Air Evac Lifeteam was dispatched to provide rapid transport.
Crew member Stacy Allen, LuJan Meketi and Brian Stoner worked seamlessly with local responders to transfer Mr Hale into flight care. The decision to airlift the patient was vital in ensuring he had timely access to higher level of treatment.
The successful rescue of Larry Hale underscores the importance of inner agency cooperation in critical emergencies. From the initial on scene response by Henry County AMR and Paris Landing Fire department to the rapid deployment of Air Evac lifeteam. Each team member played an indispensable role. Their efforts highlighted the commitment of emergency professionals who place patient survival and well-being at the forefront, even in the most challenging situations.
