Paris, Tenn.— Henry County Hospital invites caregivers, family members, and community supporters to attend an educational workshop titled “Managing the Holidays” at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 13. The event will take place in Classrooms 1 and 2, located on the lower level of the hospital.
This free community workshop is designed to provide practical guidance, emotional support, and helpful strategies for those caring for loved ones diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, especially during the often-stressful holiday season. Participants will gain insight into how to maintain meaningful traditions, manage expectations, and create a calm, supportive environment that prioritizes both the caregiver’s well-being and their loved one’s comfort.
The featured speaker will be Amanda Barlow Leitch, Director of Alzheimer’s Tennessee, who brings decades of professional experience and personal dedication to the field of Alzheimer’s education and caregiver advocacy. Leitch will share her deep understanding of the unique challenges caregivers face, as well as tools and resources to help families navigate the emotional and logistical complexities that can arise during holiday gatherings.
No reservation is required to attend, and the event is free and open to the public. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and connect with local resources offered through Alzheimer’s Tennessee and West Tennessee Healthcare.
