UNION CITY, Tenn. — Discovery Park of America has named Michael Reeves as its new director of safety and security. Reeves brings more than a decade of combined experience in public safety, emergency response and community service to the role. Known for his leadership and commitment to protecting others, Reeves will oversee the park’s safety operations, staff training and emergency preparedness efforts to ensure a secure environment for guests, employees and volunteers.

A native of Obion County, Reeves previously worked with Discovery Park as a docent and member of the special events team. He later joined the Union City Fire Department, where he served as a firefighter first class and paramedic for nearly five years. Reeves continues to serve the surrounding communities as a part-time paramedic with KenTenn EMS in Fulton and Hickman, Kentucky, as well as with Martin Fire/EMS.

“I have been blessed with the gift of service, which first led me to Discovery Park as a young adult,” Reeves said. “I look forward to returning to help improve and provide a safe experience for all who visit and are inspired to see beyond.”

Reeves is married to his lifelong best friend, Ana Reeves, owner of the local small business Tiny Baker. The couple recently welcomed their three-month-old son.

“We’re excited to welcome Michael back to the Discovery Park team,” said Scott Williams, president and CEO of Discovery Park of America. “His experience, leadership and passion for serving others make him an incredible addition to our organization.”

Discovery Park also announces the retirement of longtime director of safety and security David Estep. Estep, who has served Discovery Park since its opening, played an instrumental role in ensuring the safety and well-being of guests, employees and volunteers. His leadership and dedication have been invaluable to the organization’s mission.
