Michael Edward Dunlap

Born to King David Dunlap lll and Wilma Perry Dunlap, Michael Edward took his first breath on July 11, 1955, and his last breath on Oct. 20, 2025.

He was the seventh child of the Dunlap family, joining Reginald, Paulette, King lV, Narvie, Gwendolyn and Erma.

Michael received his formal education in the Henry County Training School and Atkins-Porter Elementary School and graduated from Henry County High School in 1973. After graduation he was employed by Piggly Wiggly and the Coast Guard. Mike was well known for traveling around and giving rides in his green Pinto.

Mike followed in his sister Paulette’s footsteps by joining the United States Army where he served for eight years. During his assignment in Germany, he met and married Linda Ugoletti. To this union one daughter, Melinda, was born.

Mike received an honorable discharge. Upon his discharge he became an over the road driver of 18-wheelers. This fulfilled a childhood dream that had been inspired by a neighbor, Mr. Kemp of Kemp Transfer Company. After retirement from this position, Mike became a driver for a tour bus company that provided transportation for pro sports teams, entertainers and dignitaries. He continued this assignment until his health began to fail.

His funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at Progressive Baptist Church in Paris. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

Repass will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025, at Paris Convention Center, 1510 E. Wood St.

Visitation is scheduled from 3-5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31, 2025, at the church. After viewing, there will be a celebration of life at LL’s Bar and Grill, 334 E. Washington St. in Paris.
