
Dover, Tenn.–A Dover man was arrested on his seventh DUI in a year and his seventh drug arrest over 12 years after he was observed driving with a tire jack attached to his tire.
Stewart CountyDeputy Johnny Law was in the area of Dunaway Ridge on a citizen complaint of a suspicious vehicle.
Deputy Law observed the vehicle on Dunaway Ridge and that the vehicle still had the tire jack attached to the tire as it was traveling down the road. Upon stopping the driver during his investigation he found that the driver was DUI, driving on revoked license and had no insurance among other violations.
The driver Josiah Nixon was charged with his 7th DUI within the last 12 years. He has been arrested 7 times in the last 12 years on drug charges.
In statement by Sheriff Frankie Gray said, “We are frustrated that we keep arresting these offenders and they keep getting back out on the street.” Cases like this shows that our criminal justice system is not protecting our citizens and we all have apart in finding the solution, he said.
