JACKSON, TENN. – WLJT-TV Channel 11 is kicking off the second season of their popular weekly series, Tennessee Writes, with Medina’s bestselling author, Susannah B. Lewis. The episode is currently streaming on-demand on the PBS App, westtnpbs.org, and YouTube. It will also be broadcast on Thursday, October 2 at 7pm.
WLJT’s Tennessee Writes features local authors in a 30-minute in-depth program that spotlights the writer’s background, journey to becoming an author, and also offers advice to future writers.
Author Susannah B. Lewis has written Christian non-fiction books as well as two fiction books. She joins host Peter Noll and tells about her childhood, her family, how she got started writing, and talks about her book, “Bless Your Heart, Rae Sutton.”
“Susannah even explains her fascination with horror author Stephen King and how he influenced her writing career,” says host and executive producer Peter Noll, “Tennessee Writes is not your typical book show. We have fun and get to know the author and hear about their life and even play the Lightning Round.”
WLJT Producer Baily Luther says that since Tennessee Writes premiered one year ago, it has had a huge interest from West Tennessee viewers and the literary community.
“We find a variety of local writers that represent different types of books who became authors in different ways,” says Luther, “In season two, we have Christian fiction, children’s books, historical books, and science fiction, all by local authors.”
In season two, WLJT will feature local authors from different backgrounds, including; a college professor, military veterans, a restaurant owner, high school students and stay-at-home moms.
