Julian “Jack” Swain Jr., 66, of Paris, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Saturday, Sept. 27, 2025, at the Grove in Oxford, Miss. — after watching his beloved Ole Miss defeat LSU, 24–19. Hotty Toddy!

Jack was born on Sept. 18, 1959, to Julian J. Swain Sr. and Sally Hudson Swain, who preceded him in death. A proud graduate of the University of Mississippi, he earned with honors bachelor’s degrees in chemistry, marine biology and English, and served as commander of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He later graduated from the University of Tennessee Center for Health Sciences in 1986 with a doctorate in dentistry, before serving three years in the US Public Health Service in Memphis.

Jack built a long and respected dental career at Twin Lakes Dental in Henry and Benton County, TN. He  was an active member of the American Dental Association, Tennessee Dental Association, South District  Dental Society, Paris Masonic Lodge #108, and the Jones Bend Fishing Club.

Jack lived life festively and fully. A brilliant conversationalist, he was boundless in his love of animals,  travel, culinary adventures, literature, and the musical arts. Known for his legendary sense of humor,  generous heart, and unmatched gift-giving, Jack brought joy to every circle he touched. His  accomplishments were many, but his greatest pride was in the relationships he nurtured—with family,  friends, patients, and strangers alike.

He is survived by his devoted wife and high school sweetheart, Fran Hilderbrand Swain; his beloved  daughter, Brenda Swain Percer, her husband, Chase and grand dog Goldie. Jack treasured his friendships  near and far, and his absence leaves a deep void in the lives of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack’s memory to the Henry County or Benton County Animal  Shelter.
