
Paris, Tenn.–A new event to downtown Paris was a real crowd-pleaser, with a huge crowd on hand for Saturday evening’s Paris Station and Carl Perkins Center Fall Festival and Block Party, complete with live music and weiner dog races. Winners (or should we say weiners) were announced after energetic heats in the race: 1st place, Poncho McGee, owner Trevor McGee of Sugar Tree, Tenn.; 2nd place “Ollie, owner Bonnie Stiles, Paris; and 3rd place, R-Cole, owner Deanna Beasley, Obion. Costume winner was Honey, owner Terri Lynn Shell. Live music was provided through the evening by Mark McWherter and Ethan Torsak, with vendors including Holly Pop, Nana’s Treats. The event was a fundraiser for the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.
