The start of tournament action this morning was delayed due to lightning and weather in the area. Due to the delay, sessions one and two were combined to award prizes to the Top 20 biggest fish. Alex Gore from top ranked Carson-Newman won the session presented by Bob’s Machine Shop and Abu Garcia with a bass weighing 6.39 pounds. The session victory awarded him a 10” Bob’s Machine Shop jack plate and $300 Bass Pro Shops gift card. |
Session 3 today was presented by Berkley. Top prize for the final session paid out a $1,000 Bass Pro Shops gift card, Abu Garcia Revo 5 X LP reel, and Berkley baits. Dalton DeFelice from 3rd ranked University of Montevallo took top honors with a bass weighing 6.29 pounds. |
Following the conclusion of weigh-in for the final session, Overall Big Bass was awarded. Jared Mizell from 25th ranked Tarleton State University won the event with a bass weighing 7.93 pounds. Top prize paid out a new Power-Pole, $1,000 Bass Pro Shops gift card, TurtleBox speaker, Bob’s Machine Shop 6” jack plate, Bajio sunglasses, and a Trailer Valet drop hitch. Jared also earned the $250 ACA logo contingency, $500 Garmin Tournament Rewards, and $100 G2 Gemini tournament contingency bonus. All total, including the $1,500 Garmin credit he received on Day 1, Jared tallied over $7,000 in prizes and contingencies. Along with the valuable prizes and contingencies, Jared earns 1,750 points to count towards Tarleton State’s points total for the 2025-26 Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia. Tarleton State placed three anglers in the Top 10 of the overall tournament standings, with their two biggest fish placing 1st and 8th. Top ranked Carson-Newman’s top finishing teams placed 4th and 7th overall. The first ACA double points event of the season will have a great impact on the standings for the Bass Pro Shops School of the Year presented by Abu Garcia, as many teams earned valuable points at Kentucky Lake this weekend. The ACA will update the points standings later this week. The ACA would also like to thank the host site of Henry County and Paris, TN, as well as the team at Paris Landing State Park for their assistance and support this weekend! |
