Springville, Tenn.–Fifty one refuge volunteers came together recently at the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge for the last wood duck banding of the season. That evening a total of 134 wood ducks were captured with 45 being banded, and the rest were recaptured or previously banded ducks. The final tally of the summer was 395 wood ducks. For the first time, the refuge captured and banded 3 black bellied whistling ducks. (Refuge photo).
