Camden, TN — The West Tennessee Area Council, Scouting America, announces the Grand Opening of the Pfeffer River Base at Camp Mack Morris in Benton County. A donation from the Pfeffers in excess of $315,000 has been used to fund renovations to the waterfront area at Camp Mack Morris.
Camp Mack Morris is located at 455 Camp Mack Morris Rd, Camden.
The Pfeffer family’s contribution has funded:
- Four inflatable paddleboards, lifejackets, and six Aquafin Sailboats
- A floating water playground (jungle float)
- Boat dock renovations for swimming and boating and low horsepower outboard motors for motorboating
- Major Updates to the bathhouse, waterfront tower, and fencing
- A new portable restroom trailer
- And many other exciting features!
These improvements have revitalized the camp’s waterfront, increasing safety, capacity, and excitement for thousands of Scouts who attend Camp Mack Morris each year.
A ceremony Saturday included a ribbon-cutting and remarks from the West Tennessee Area Council-Boy Scouts of America officials and the Pfeffers. A tour of the new facility also was given and refreshments were served.
Some 65 people attended the ceremony.
