Matthew Hazlewood, 54, of Martin passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family, friends and love of Christian music.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Central Baptist Church in Martin. Brother Kylan Mann will officiate. Burial will follow in Cate Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Central Baptist Church from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Koltin Winstead, Cole Hazlewood, Madison Hazlewood, Bobby Webb, Kevin Lovelace and Todd Covington.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Matthew was born July 12, 1971, in Union City, son of George “Matt” Hazlewood and Barbara (Cook) Hazlewood. He married Amie (Anderson) Hazlewood January 16, 1993. Matthew was a 1989 graduate of Sharon High School. After graduation he entered the United States Air Force where he served in Desert Storm. Matthew was employed by the University of Tennessee at Martin in the physical plant where he was the supervisor of the carpentry shop.

Matthew is survived by his parents, Matt and Barbara Hazlewood of Sharon; his wife of 32 years, Amie Hazlewood of Martin; three children, Alexandria “Allie” Hazlewood, Joy Winstead and husband Koltin and Cole Hazlewood all of Martin; one brother, George Madison Hazlewood, Jr. and wife Vickie of Martin; two grandchildren, Audrie Jean Winstead and Levi Blake Winstead both of Martin; one niece, Braedyn Hazlewood of Martin; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Patty and Wayne Vail of Covington, Virginia; special friends, Bobby and Mary Webb of Sharon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Mary Hazlewood and Ernest and Wilma Cook;
