MURRAY, Ky. – Murray State University Bachelor of Science in Nursing student Saiylor Beecham was recently selected as the recipient of the 2025 Kentucky Nurses Association Student Nurse of the Year Award, one of the most prestigious student honors in Kentucky nursing.
Her nomination described Beecham, a senior from Paris, Tennessee, as “an excellent nursing student whose dedication, leadership and commitment to the profession stands out,” according to the notification email from Delanor Manson, chief executive officer of Kentucky Nurses Association (KNA).
“You are an exceptional student nurse leader and role model,” said Manson. “Being nominated alone is a remarkable recognition, reflecting the deep respect and admiration for your work on behalf of nursing students in our state. Your dedication not only prepares you to enter the nursing profession with excellence but also positions you to continue making an impact after graduation as a professional nurse.”
Dean of the Murray State University School of Nursing and Health Professions Dr. Dina Byers added, “We are incredibly proud of Saiylor Beecham for being recognized as the Kentucky Nurses Association Student Nurse of the Year. This honor reflects her leadership, compassion and commitment to the nursing profession. Saiylor exemplifies the values of excellence and service that define our program and the nursing profession, and we are excited to see the impact she will continue to make in healthcare.”
Beecham said she is deeply honored to have been named the KNA Student Nurse of the Year.
“This recognition is not only a personal milestone but also a reflection of the incredible support, mentorship and opportunities I have received throughout my nursing journey,” said Beecham. “I am profoundly grateful to the Kentucky Nurses Association for this prestigious award and for their unwavering commitment to advancing the nursing profession and empowering the next generation of nurses.”
Beecha said this award serves as a reminder of the responsibility she carries as both a student nurse and a future nurse leader.
“It inspires me to continue striving for excellence, advocating for my patients and contributing to the growth and advancement of nursing across Kentucky and beyond,” she said. “I extend my sincerest gratitude to my professors, colleagues, peers and mentors who have guided and encouraged me throughout my academic journey. I am committed to upholding the values of the nursing profession and working toward meaningful change that will positively impact both the healthcare system and the communities we serve.”
The award will be presented Nov. 13 at the 2025 KNA Legacy and Leadership Gala in Louisville, Kentucky.
