In recognition of the significant impact that the Dill family has made on Murray State University over the last four decades, Racer Athletics has officially unveiled the naming of the Dill Family Court inside the CFSB Center ahead of the 2025-26 basketball season.

The newly-named court honors the significant impact the family has made on the University and the investment the family made to the Department of Athletics in August 2024. The gift serves as the lead gift for the CFSB Center.

“We are thankful for the deep roots we have in Murray since my dad came here as part of the basketball coaching staff. It is incredibly meaningful for our family to honor the core memories we have made over the years with the court naming,” said David Dill (’90). “It will be so special to attend Murray State basketball games in the future and see our family name etched on the court. We are proud Racers for life, and are unbelievably blessed by this recognition.”

The Dill family’s connection to Murray State runs deep, beginning with the late Mike Dill arriving at Murray State in 1978 to join the Racer men’s basketball coaching staff. Marilyn Dill, Mike’s wife, also received her Master’s in Education from Murray State before teaching kindergarten/first grade for 19 years in Murray.

David Dill and his brother, Chris (’95), both carried on the Racer legacy of their parents by attending Murray State as student-athletes, playing golf and football, respectively. They both met their spouses, Ashley (Hall – ’89) and Michelle (Giltner – ’95), while attending MSU.

“Words cannot describe how impactful the Dill family has been on Murray State University, and we are excited to recognize their unwavering commitment with this naming opportunity,” University President Dr. Ron Patterson said. “Their gift will have a transformational effect on Racer Athletics and on the University as a whole, and we are incredibly grateful for this truly special family.”

The highly-anticipated, eight-figure renovation to the CFSB Center, which has now moved into the design phase, is scheduled to begin following the 2025-26 basketball season and be completed for the 2026-27 campaign.

“The Dill family has been extremely generous with their time, talents, and treasures, and the newly-dedicated court is a testament to their longtime support and their belief in our shared vision for excellence for Murray State Athletics,” Director of Athletics Nico Yantko said. “The family’s gift has allowed us to proceed with the long-overdue renovation of the CFSB Center, and it will have a monumental impact on the success of Racer Basketball for generations to come. We are thankful for this special family’s continued support and are excited to unveil this special design.”

Two key components of the renovation are seating enhancements throughout the lower bowl and the addition of an anticipated 1,000 new premium seating opportunities, both of which will significantly enhance fan experience. Additionally, the project will feature a first-of-its-kind, courtside bunker club, with unique team engagement activation on game days.
