Mr. Rick Johnson, Sr., 63, of Hickman, Kentucky, passed away at 1:24 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital. Born on January 26, 1962, in Salem, Illinois, he was the son of the late Evan Louis Johnson and Phyllis Ann (Kline) Newcomb. Rick was a dedicated truck driver for Nutrien Ag Solutions in Union City for 26 years, where he cherished his work family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Connie (Leckey) Johnson, and his children: Ricky Johnson (Erin Sexsmith) of South Fulton, Jason Johnson of Hickman, Kentucky, Bobbi Johnson (Doug Forrest) of Union City, Brandi Lee Johnson of Pana, Illinois, Gary Moore (Cara) of Union City, and Kenneth Moore of Union City. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and his sister, Carla Shilling (Rick) of Centralia, Illinois. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Liam Tucker.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home, with Dan Huggins officiating. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services on Friday.
Pallbearers will include Doug Forrest, Gary Moore, Kenneth Moore, Bryant Johnson, Jaiden Johnson, and Scotty Reilly, with honorary pallbearers being employees of Nutrien Ag Solutions.
Rick was a man who loved his family, his pets, and never met a stranger. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
