State Guide To Birding Names Refuge As Prime Birding Spot

birding-guide

The new state Guide to Birding is out now and it includes the Tennessee National Wildlife Refuge in Springville as one of the state’s prime spots.
Sonia Outlaw-Clark, director of Visit Brownsville TN, and Scott Williams, director of Discovery Park of America, helped launch the new “Guide to Birding in Tennessee” – a free Tennessee Vacation booklet that identifies birdwatching destinations across the state.
Also recognized were the talented contributors to the guide who helped make it an excellent tool for both seasoned and beginning birders: Graham Gerdeman (writer & award-winning photographer), Bob Ford (conservationist and director of the Hatchie River Conservancy), Tony Lance (Staff Naturalist with TN Wildlife Federation) and photographer Tricia Vesely.
Birdwatching plays an important role in supporting outdoor recreation and tourism economies, especially in rural communities across Tennessee. The guide is available at Discovery Park.
The Guide to Birding in Tennessee is available online and in print at Tennessee’s 16 Welcome Centers.
