
Marilyn Williams Bishop, age 73 of McKenzie, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at her residence, one week after the death of her husband, Billy Bishop. The celebration of life service for Billy and Marilyn Bishop will take place at McEvoy Funeral Home on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Phillip Halter officiating. Visitation will be held after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, prior to the service at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Marilyn was born June 7, 1952, in Paris to the late W.C. Williams, Jr., and the late Johnnie Mae Richardson Williams. She married Billy W. Bishop on June 20, 1970, and he passed away on July 15, 2025.
Marilyn retired from Profile Metal after 17 years of service. She is survived by daughters: Stacy Bishop Fletcher (Chad) of Lexington, TN, and Julie Hester (Brent) of Bethesda, TN; grandchildren: Chase Dowdy (Bethany), Chance Dowdy, Tristin Fletcher, Brenden Fletcher, and Landry Hester; sister, Barbara Brown (Frankie) of Humboldt; brother, Steve Williams (Debbie) of El Cajon, CA; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides her parents and husband, Marilyn was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Williams.
Billy was born October 14, 1948, in Enville, TN, to the late Arlin Bishop and Icie Moore Dyer. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from Goodyear as a maintenance welder.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Billy is also survived by sisters, Evelyn Gage of Bethel Springs, TN, Judy Jones of Lexington, TN, and Cathy Burton of Lexington, TN; brother, Jeff Bishop (Janice) of Mt. Juliet, TN; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Besides his parents, Billy was also preceded in death by a sister, Linda Walker, and a brother, Doyle Bishop.
