Dyersburg State Hosts Foundation Board Dinner

Dyersburg, TennesseeDyersburg State Community College (DSCC) held its annual Foundation board meeting and donor recognition dinner on July 17 at the Student Center on the Dyersburg campus. DSCC faculty, staff, board members, and their guests were in attendance for this special event. Dyersburg State also has a branch campus in Paris.

President Scott Cook introduced Mr. John Williams, Associate Vice Chancellor of the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR), who presented the Excellence in Philanthropy Chancellor’s Award to Dr. Kevin and Damaris Cook. The Cook family has contributed to Dyersburg State since 2007, donating over $83,493.00 to the Annual Fund and the DSCC Foundation.

In addition to the philanthropy awards, a brief business meeting followed the award presentation. During the meeting, Mr. Jim Duke from Haywood County was presented and approved as a new member of the DSCC Foundation Board.

The DSCC Foundation would like to thank White Squirrel Winery for sponsoring the beverages for the dinner.

The DSCC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established to promote and support DSCC’s mission. Earnings from the endowment funds assist DSCC and its students. Contributions to the DSCC Foundation are tax-deductible. Bequests, legacies, devices, transfers, or gifts to the DSCC Foundation or for its use are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes if they meet the applicable provisions of Code sections 2055, 2106, and 2522.
