Paris’ Own Cherry Jones Nominated For Another Emmy

Paris, Tenn.–Paris Native Cherry Jones has been nominated for another Emmy. The Emmy nominations were announced today and Jones was one of those actresses receiving good news: She was nominated for in the category of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for her work on The Handmaid’s Tale.

Those nominated in the Outstanding Guest Actress category were:

Jane Alexander, Severance
Gwendoline Christie, Severance
Kaitlyn Dever, The Last of Us
Cherry Jones, The Handmaid’s Tale
Catherine O’Hara, The Last of Us

Jones is a five-time Tony Award nominee and two-time winner in the Best Actress category for “The Heiress” in 1995 and “Doubt” in 2005 and she’s been nominated for Emmys four times and won three of them so far: in the Drama Supporting Actress category for ’24’ in 2009; as Drama Guest Actress for ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’ in 2019; and Drama Guest Actress in 2020 for ‘Succession’.

In order to be in consideration for this year’s ceremony, all television shows, limited series, or made-for-TV film entries must have been released nationally between June 1, 2024 and May 31, 2025.

The Emmys are voted upon every year by the members of the Television Academy. The final round of voting will end on Aug. 27 — just over two weeks before the ceremony, hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze, airs Sunday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS.
