Jerome Key, Sr.

Mr. Jerome Key, Sr., 74, of Troy passed away 5:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Campground Cemetery with Brother Ron Gray officiating.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Pallbearers will be Gunner Buck, Roger Buck, Chase Coleman, Chance Key, Jerome Key and Jason Hewitt.

Jerome was born February 14, 1951, in Clayton, Alabama, son of the late Fred Key and Joyce (Helms) Skinner.  He married Sallye (Sewing) Key January 22, 1968.  She passed away April 12, 2018.  He was an oil rig worker in the Gulf of America and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Union City. Jerome was also a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Buck (Mandie) of Troy and Cher Key (Jason Hewitt) of New Iberia, Louisiana; one son, Jerome Key, Jr. (Crystal) of Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three brothers, Ronnie Skinner (Janice) of Florida, Donald Skinner (Bev) of Alabama and Dennis Skinner (Becky) of Alabama.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Ann Key.
