Dover, Tenn.–Stewart County just got a little more safer as the last of four cameras were installed and are up and running. The Stewart County Sheriff’s Office and Cumberland City Police Department now have real time access to these cameras, according to Sheriff Frankie Gray. The Sheriff’s Office is working to allow the Dover Police Department to also have access to the camera’s. These cameras will send alerts to law enforcement of a stolen vehicle, wanted suspect in a vehicle, child abduction, missing person, etc. Vehicles wanted by other jurisdiction can be detected if that jurisdiction enters them into the Flock System. For example, if a vehicle wanted for robbery in Knoxville or New York is entered into this system and the vehicle enters our county it will be detected and all deputies will be sent an immediate alert. No alerts are sent on vehicles that are not entered into the data base. Gray said despite all the false information that have been put out, this camera system is very effective and unobtrusive in keeping communities safe. Anyone who has concerns or questions about the Flock System is urged to contact Sheriff Gray or Chief Deputy Dale Ward. Flock System photo.
