
Union City, Tenn.–The Union City Fire Department was dispatched to a residential structure fire at 4:38 p.m Tuesday, July 8.
Rives Volunteer Fire Department and South Fulton Fire & Rescue responded as automatic aid.
Union City firefighters arrived on scene in less than four minutes to find heavy smoke and flame on the south side of the structure. The fire was quickly extinguished and did moderate damage to the interior of the building.
On investigation, the fire was determined to be arson, and criminal investigation was turned over to the Union City, Tennessee, Police Department. UCPD located a suspect and made an arrest after questioning. Details of the investigation and arrest will be released by UCPD.
No one was home at the time of the fire and there were no injuries. Firefighters remained on scene for about 90 minutes.
