
Murray, Ky.–A Murray man was charged with assault and tampering with evidence following an incident that occured on the evening of July 4.
Around 8:57 PM, the Murray Police Department was contacted by the Murray Calloway County Hospital that they had a patient that had been shot in Murray. Officers responded to the hospital as well as the location where the shooting occurred.
Officers gained information describing the suspect’s vehicle, and while officers were securing the shooting location, they observed the suspect’s vehicle on the roadway. The vehicle attempted to leave the area, but it was stopped by officers.
Through investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Earl Birdsong, age 61, of Murray, KY, was charged with Assault 1st Degree and Tampering with Physical Evidence.
