Cottage Grove, Tenn.–To celebrate his 50 years of service to the town of Cottage Grove, Fire Chief John Weiher will be the grand marshal at this year’s Freedom Festival grand parade. Cottage Grove also will be celebrating the 50th year of the Freedom Festival this year. The Freedom Festival will be held all day Friday, July 4.
As always, the parade is at 10 a.m. and moves right through the heart of town, afterwhich numerous activities will commence: cake walk, tug of war, hose-spraying, corn hole tournament, hay rides, the Country Store opens, games for the kids. The popular Firehouse International Kitchen and concession stand with burgers, ice cream and more, will open and there will be fireworks at 9 p.m.
Everyone is invited.
