
Jerry Lee Parsons, age 82, of Buchanan, TN, died on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his residence.
Jerry was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Paris. He attended church for many years at Springville Baptist Church in Springville, TN. Jerry started Russwood Baptist Church as it’s first pastor. Then he later pastored Beacon Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church. He loved Jesus Christ, farming, woodworking, and cherishing time with his family and grandchildren.
He was born May 14, 1943, in Pontiac MI, to the late Carl Parsons and the late Mary Goodman Parsons.
On June 14, 1963, Jerry married Barbara J. Beasley Parsons, who survives, of Buchanan.
Survivors include his four children, Lina (Andy) Cobb of Kansas City, KS, Duard (Penny) Parsons of Buchanan, TN, Mary (Scott) Grooms of Puryear, TN, and Jonathan (Ginny) Parsons of Buchanan, TN; two sisters, Barbara (Jay) Duff of IL, Ruth Jones of MO; two brothers, George Parsons of MI, Joe (Phyllis) Parsons of MI; 14 grandchildren, Jennifer, Justin, Hunter, Kayla, Jordan, Ginny, Jerod, Kelsey, Dakota, Wyatt, Lexi, Emily, Elizabeth and Carli; 14 great-grandchildren, Maggie, Bo, Cooper, Colton, Cash, Payton, Drew, Arlo, Mac, Langston, Willa, Cypress, Landon, and Lainey.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by three sisters, Agnes Johnson, Marie Pinner and infant Bonnie Faye Parsons; six brothers, Bob Parsons, Warren Parsons, Cecil Parsons, Clyde Parsons, Walter Parsons, and Roy Lee Parsons; and one grandson, Zachary McAnulla.
Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap Street, Paris, TN 38242, is handling the arrangements. Visitation will be held at Ridgeway Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 17th, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm then again on Wednesday, June 18th, 2025, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with the funeral service at 12:00 pm at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Foundry Hill Baptist Cemetery in Puryear, TN.
Scott Grooms, Jared Grooms, Wyatt Parsons, Duard Parsons, Austin Watkins, Jonathan Parsons, Drew Sheppard, and Cooper Berryhill, will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Beasley, Wesley Beasley, Jac Conger, Colton Berryhill, Cash Berryhill, Joe Parsons, and George Parsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rock Steady Boxing, 235 Legends Drive, Springville, TN 38256, in support of Parkinson’s Disease, and ARMS, Inc. to provide support, advocacy, and education for all affected by Autism.
