Camden, Tenn.–Signage proclaiming a section of Hwy. 641 as the “Chief Deputy Michael W. Lockhart Memorial Highway” was unveiled Thursday morning. The section runs through Benton County and is at the intersection of Hwy. 641 and Rocky Ridge Rd.
It honors Michael Lockhart, who spent over 32 years in law enforcement. Twelve years were with the Bruceton Police Department, afterwhich he began working for the Benton Co. Sheriff’s Office, where he remained until his death in 2023 at age 53.
Some 75 people attended the event, including members of the Lockhart family, law enforcement and other first responders, county and city officials and friends.
